Bacon and waffles, a match made in heaven? We think so! Add in a little maple syrup and well, you just have to taste for yourself! If you’re busy like us, you can simply use a store bought waffle mix OR you can make these completely from scratch. Below is a made from scratch recipe combined with our locally raised bacon and farm fresh eggs from our farm in Osseo, WI. This will be a family favorite for years to come!

//ingredients//

  • deutsch family farm bacon

  • 2 deutsch family farm eggs

  • 2 c all-purpose flour

  • 1 3/4 c milk

  • 1/2 c vegetable oil

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 4 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • REAL maple syrup

//directions//

  1. Cook bacon in a skillet on low-medium until the slices reach the desired crispiness. Set aside to cool.

  2. Preheat waffle iron.

  3. Combine eggs, flour, milk, oil, sugar, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl.

  4. Crumble cooled bacon into a small bowl.

  5. Spray waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour 1/4 c of the waffle mix onto the waffle iron (or more depending on how large you want your waffles), sprinkle the bacon crumbles over the top of the waffle mix and close the waffle iron.

  6. Repeat until all mix is used. Enjoy with maple syrup and a cup of coffee (or milk for the little ones!)
